8-year-old girl dies due to lack of facilities at Lahore hospital

An eight-year-old girl died due to lack of treatment facilities in a government hospital here on Sunday.
Heirs of the deceased and dwellers of the area held protest demonstration and blocked the road against the slapdash and attitude of the hospital staff.
According to details, Ayesha, 8, a resident of Walton Road area of Lahore, was shifted to General Hospital after she fell from roof of the house.
Doctors and medical staff despite critical condition of Ayesha showed irresponsible attitude excusing one or other issue. Meantime the patient died due to prolonged delay in treatment and non availability of ventilator.
The heirs of the deceased blamed that hospital staff maltreated them and forcefully expelled them from the hospital after death of the girl.
Later heirs of the deceased and hundreds of other dwellers held protest demonstration against the incident. They blocked the Ferozpur Road creating halt in flow of traffic for more than three hours. Later the protestors
dispersed peacefully after being assured that strict action would be taken against the responsible.
