The 132 Pakistani Umrah pilgrims who had been stranded at Jeddah airport for the past week reached Lahore on Saturday.
As per details, PIA’s first flight, PK-760 carrying 450 passengers, including the 132 stranded Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, reached the Lahore airport at 7am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, two PIA flights carrying 1,000 Umrah pilgrims stranded at Jeddah airport have reached Lahore. The second flight, PK-7396 carrying 500 passengers, reached Lahore.
A large number of relatives of the passengers were present at the Allama Iqbal Airport to receive their loved ones. The stranded pilgrims said they had been not been informed about the reason of their flights’ delay, and no arrangements had been made to look after them at Jeddah.
Meanwhile, PIA officials said the national airlines had sent three planes to Jeddah to bring back Pakistani Umrah pilgrims stranded at Jeddah airport since August 28.
