‘Karak received Rs 540m in royalties’

District Advisory Development Committee (DADC) Chairman Mian Nisar Gul said on Sunday that Rs 540 million had been given to district Karak as oil and gas royalty, adding that Rs 70.5 million had been approved for constructing the Rahamkar School which would be established in areas producing oil and gas.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Indus highway to Ghundi Mir Khankhel Road, Gul said the road would cost Rs 20.5 million and announced that a square would be constructed at Kamran Shaheed Chowk with special assistance of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti.
The DADC chairman said further that Rs 180 million would be spent to construct roads, adding that widening and reconstructing the Niazi Well to Palosa Sar Road would cost Rs 50 million. He said the approved road projects would be built in various villages, adding that all these roads were aimed at linking people directly with the district headquarter. He said Rs 90.9 million had already been approved to provide soft drinking water supply.
He said civil dispensary Dabb would be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 4 million and announced that government girl’s middle school Tarkha Koi had been upgraded to high level school. He said further that the government primary school Nari Eidal Khel had been upgraded to middle level to provide education to children of backward areas. The DADC chairman said Rs 10 million had been approved for sanitation work at Karak City and Sabirabad, adding that Rs 5 million each would be spent on sanitation work at Mithakhel and Isak Chountra. The MPA informed that electrification of Painda Banda, Wardak, Peer Mela, Alwargi, Kool Banda and Sharki Kando Khel had incurred a cost of Rs 20.5 million and announced that Rs 8.6 million would be spent on the electrification of Barak Khel, Salkhani and New Abadi Palosa Sar. He also approved setting up of 112 power transformers to improve power voltage in his constituency and 600 power poles for incomplete electrification work in the areas. He said the Haneef Road from Indus highway to Tarkha Koi would be constructed in memory of Haneef Khattak who recently died in a tragic road accident.
