Interior Minister Rehman Malik visited the Mardan House on Friday and met with Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President Shahi Syed and other party leaders.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said that he ordered provision of security to Dr Zulfiqar Mirza because the latter is the husband of National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza and it is his right.
“We have provided security to Dr Mirza if he is holding rallies. But this does not mean that he is doing all that with our support and advice,” he added.
He said that the arrested “target killers” would brought before the media after some days.
“The Criminal Acts would be reviewed and amended in order to punish criminals and terrorists according to law,” he added.
He said that security agencies are busy maintaining law and order in Karachi. “There are no targeted killings in Karachi now. The operations against target killers has almost completed,” he said.
Malik said that he came to meet ANP leaders and now he will go to Sunni Tehreek and the MQM as well.
Shahi Syed said that Rehman Malik is the interior minister and he came to wish Eid to the ANP leaders. He added that his reservations over the operations have been removed.
