6 killed, 55 hurt in road accidents during Eid days

At least six people, including three of the same family, were killed and 55 others injured in different road accidents in various parts of the district during Eidul Fitr days. In the first incident, a jeep hit a pick-up on the Indus Highway near Amberi Kalay Chowk and seriously injured 17 people. The injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital Karak where three of them succumbed to their injuries.
Those dead have been identified as Muhammad Zohaib, Wali Muhammad and Abdul Haseeb, all belonging to the same family of Haiderkhel, Karak. The relatives of the victims got a case registered against the owner of the jeep, Noor Daraz, who also opened fire on people as they tried to follow him after the accident. The driver of the jeep was allegedly drunk. In the second incident, two people were killed and one was seriously injured in a road accident on the Indus Highway near Sanda Khurran in the jurisdiction of Banda Daud Shah police station.
The accident occurred when a speedy car overturned. The dead and injured were taken to Divisional Headquarters Hospital Kohat. Those killed were identified as Murad and Zahoor, residents of Lakki Marwat. In the third incident, one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a road accident on the Indus Highway near Mitthakhel. The deceased was identified as Bahadur Khan of Palsokai Banda, district Karak. Meanwhile, 38 people were injured in other road accidents in the district during the Eid holidays.
