‘Policeman arrested for attempting to rape Chinese engineer’

A police constable allegedly attempted to rape a Chinese civil engineer in the Westridge Police precincts on Thursday. A police official said the project manager of a Chinese company lodged a complaint with the Westridge Police Station. The complaint alleged that a policeman named Toseer Abbas, deputed to provide security to Chinese civil engineer identified as Miss Yee, at her residence near Fateh Jang in the Police Checkpost Hameedan area, entered her room and attempted to rape her.
He added that police were notified and arrested the police security guard upon arriving at the scene. A case against Toseer Abbas was registered under sections 376/11, 452 and 155-C and D Police Order 2002 and he was shifted to Adiyala Jail on judicial remand. Police sources disclosed that in his initial statement, Toseer claimed a group of Chinese people were drunk at the house and had begun beating him.
He said the Chinese engineer accused him of attempted rape when his colleagues came forward to rescue him. Rawalpindi Chief Police Officer (CPO) Azhar Hameed Khokar confirming the arrest to a private TV channel, said an enquiry had been initiated under Police Order 2002, according to which Toseer could be fired.
