Setback for Mush

The All Pakistan Muslim League, whose president lives in self-exile, has lost its only diehard follower – the indomitable Dr Sher Afgan. As it is, whenever a party stalwart bids farewell to his party, it is always on the point of principle. So was the case with the Doc. He was angry about some party decision. Frankly, he could have been angry even without any decision. However, Niazis are known to be good and large hearted clan but they seem to sound angry while they are actually calm. So how would angry Dr Afgan look like? He must be kicking all around. I had found him entertaining whenever he was on a TV show because he was longwinded and just would not give up.

Whenever someone criticised Mush, he would immediately march in Nawaz Sharif. Though I had no love lost for any of them, I used to enjoy Doc’s antics. He was rigid to no limit. Somehow, he always reminded me of a schoolfellow who was always a goalkeeper in football. Our team coach used to say that if the robust goalkeeper did not get the ball, he would get the man.
