Test series anyone’s for the taking: Ramiz

Pakistan’s former captain Ramiz Raja believes that Pakistan and the Zimbabwean team have an equal chance of winning the series after Zimbabwe have shown improvement in their game and the tourists lacking the killing instinct due to the induction of six to seven new players.
Talking to journalists here on Tuesday, Ramiz said Pakistan in fact lost their favourite tag against Zimbabwe by including too many new players in the team. So the chances of both the teams have been divided and the Pakistan team is no more favourites because the new players in the team would surely come under pressure of performing.
He pointed out that the team was still going through building phase and “I believe it instead of bringing in so many new players should have entered in the series with a high note.” “The induction of one or two players was much more suitable but now they had an equal chance of winning against Zimbabweans, who have shown their progress with test win,” he added.
He said Pakistan were not in a position of doing experiments and they should have entered into the series with a stable team. “The team’s performance would entirely depend on these new players and I wonder how they would react to the pressure and take full advantage of the chances,” he maintained.
On Shoaib Malik’s return, he said that he would be under pressure after passing all the tests. “The integrity committee scrutiny of his accounts would surely be doing the rounds in his mind but I believe he is lucky to have a chance against a weaker opposition and it will be a moral booster for him,” said Ramiz.
