Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmed Raza Tahir said on Monday that special security arrangements were being made for Chaand Raat and Eid. He said Lahore Police would ensure that the citizens were protected from anti-state elements and that law and order was maintained. Special camps have been set up by the police in various markets where mounted police, lady police and snap checking would be in operation throughout Eid day. The CCPO said that additional police was deployed at various parks on the first, second and third day of Eid. He told the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) to ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid holidays so that the citizens did not have to face issues while commuting. The CCPO said that police officers carrying metal detectors would be deployed in and around mosques and Imambargahs.
