Lahore High Court (LHC) Acting Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed on Friday announced four Eid holidays for courts all over Punjab from August 31 to September 3. According to a notification, the acting LHC CJ notified that the LHC Principal Seat at Lahore and its allied benches at Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi and civil and sessions courts in Punjab will remain closed on the above-mentioned days.
LHC stays PPSC exam: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday stayed the examination for posts of deputy and assistant district attorney scheduled for today. Justice Azmat Saeed issued the order in response to a petition filed by Jang Sher Bahadur and others challenging the criterion for eligible candidates. The petition said that since the passing marks for LLB are 45 percent, the criterion for the district attorney exams should also be reduced from 50 percent to 45 percent. After hearing the preliminary arguments, the court stayed the exams and sought replies from the Punjab chief secretary and secretaries of law and services by September 10.
