Nawaz, Bilour meet to discuss ‘avenues of cooperation’

Ice-melting started between two former allied parties – Awami National Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz – when senior ANP leader and Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour called on PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif in Madina, Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
An informed source told Pakistan Today that both the leaders discussed the overall political situation and avenues in which their parties could cooperate in the future. PML-N leader Ishaq Dar was also present in the meeting, the source said, adding that both of them also congratulated each other on performing Umra.
The source said the meeting was significant as the ANP had already started intra-party dialogue on parting ways with the Sindh coalition government after difference cropped up between ANP and PPP on the decision to trash the commissionerate
system in Sindh. When contacted, Ministry of Railways spokesman Shahid Mahmood confirmed the meeting between Bilour and Sharif, adding that the meeting was a breakthrough after their last meeting two years ago in Raiwind.
