80 held in Lyari

The search operation launched by 3,000 Rangers in Lyari concluded on Sunday with the arrest of 80 suspects, a private TV channel reported. The Rangers’ Anti-terrorism Squad cordoned off the areas suspected to be infested with criminals. Afshani Gali, Eido Lane, Singho Lane and Gul Muhammd Lane areas were cleansed during the operation and several suspects arrested. The Rangers also found two torture cells equipped with all sorts of instruments of torment. Meanwhile, the residents of Lyari held a protest against the operation. Unknown gunmen opened fire on the protesters, injuring three people, including two women.
