A 17-year-old boy was shot dead over domestic issues in the Nawab Town Police precincts on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Abid Zahid, a resident of Okara and living at his aunt’s house in Ali Town. He worked in a restaurant. On Sunday, the victim was coming back to his house when two unidentified people opened fire at him and managed to flee. As a result, he was severely injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Nawab Town Police registered a case against unknown people on complaint of the victim’s father Abdul Hameed. A relative of the victim told police that Abid had a dispute with his uncle who wanted him to leave his house where he was living for the past three months. Separately, an unidentified 50-year-old man died after being intoxicated by a swindler in the Tibbi City Police precincts. The deceased was found dead near the Sher Shah Darbar. Police suspected that the deceased was intoxicated by a swindler and deprived of his valuables. Police shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy.
Also on Sunday, six women were injured when a speeding rickshaw overturned near the Mozang Police area. Rescue 1122 officials, after being informed, reached the spot and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital where their conditions were reported to be stable.
In another incident, an 11-year-old boy was electrocuted in the Shahdara Police precincts. The deceased was identified as Qasim, a resident of Imamia Colony, Shahdara. According to Rescue 1122, the deceased was playing on the rooftop of his house when he touched electricity wires and received electric shocks. His family shifted him to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
An unidentified man 55-year-old man was crushed by a speeding car in the Kot Lakhpat Police precincts.The deceased was crossing the road near Kot Lakhpat when a speeding car crushed him. As a result, he was severely injured and rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Kot Lakhpat Police shifted the body to the city morgue.
In another development, the Naseerabad Police arrested 15 gamblers and six drug meddlers and recovered two kilogrammes hashish and 20 bottles of liquor. Police on a tip-off conducted a raid in a house near Firdous Market and arrested the accused.
