Picnic spots attract families

A large number of families are visiting various picnic spots and public parks of the federal capital daily.
The places, including Rawal Lake View Park, Pakistan Monument, Shahdara, Shakarparian, Jasmine and Rose Garden, Zoo, Children Park, Fatima Jinnah Park and Margalla Hills jogging tracks have become a source of attraction for visitors.
The Rawal Lake View Park has a panoramic view of the Rawal Dam and also has a lush green playground for children. Folk musicians play various tunes representing the folk music of the country to enthral the visitors.
The park has become an ideal picnic point, especially for those, who want to have some happy moments with their families after spending a busy week.
It is attracting all kinds of people, including students.
“The Lake View Park is really a tremendous place for enjoyment. After spending a hectic day, I rush towards it and become fresh after spending only a few moments here,” said Faisal Abbasi, an employee of a local company.
Visitors said the local administration should develop some other places for providing healthy recreational facilities to the people.
Pakistan Monument and Daman-e-Koh are the other spots of attraction for visitors where hundreds of the residents visit to enjoy themselves.
A resident, Shah Alam, said he always preferred Daman-e-Koh to have a nice view of Islamabad and for the tasty food the place offered.
A lot of people also visit Pir Sohawa especially on weekends.
