Paltrow holds book signing despite hurricane warnings

Determined not to let a little hurricane rain on her parade, Gwyneth Paltrow turned up for a book signing in East Hampton, New York. Despite warnings for New Yorkers to take cover as Hurricane Irene approached, Gwyneth made her way to an independent bookshop and warmly greeted her fans. The superstar actress sat on a simple wooden stool and held a microphone as she talked about her new cookbook, ‘My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness’.
After a while, the 38-year-old flashed a big grin and read excerpts from the book. The usually glamorous actress looked like she had rushed to get to the event. She arrived sporting messy hair, no make-up, cut-off jeans, a striped sweater with a swimsuit underneath and flip-flops. Despite her casual appearance, Gwyneth’s admirers didn’t seem to mind, as they lined up to get a glimpse of the Oscar-winning star.
