Actor and Oscar-winning director Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have reached an agreement over custody of their daughter Lucia, a California court has announced. Grigorieva, a 40-year-old Russian musician, had requested custody of the girl, who will be two in October, as well as assurances that visits with the 55-year-old Gibson would be court-supervised. Details of the deal announced late Friday were not immediately released. The final terms of the custody deal will be discussed in closed session, and financial terms will be taken up in court on Wednesday. The actor avoided jail time in March this year when he decided not to appeal domestic violence charges made by Grigorieva in 2010. He was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to attend a domestic violence counselling program.
