Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday expressed reservations on the appointment of Buland Akhtar Rana as the auditor general, saying that he was involved in various corruption cases. Addressing an iftar party arranged by PTI Central Vice President Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhary, Imran said Rana had been appointed to put cover on the ruling party’s corruption.
He held the ruling party responsible for the Karachi crisis, adding that police was helpless since rulers were protecting criminals in the city. He also criticised the government for creating hurdles in Supreme Court (SC)’s attempts to put criminals behind the bars.
