2,400 flights cancelled ahead of Hurricane Irene

Affecting the plans of those returning home for Eidul Fitr, airlines have cancelled 2,400 flights so far as Hurricane Irene works up its way through the East Coast of the United State. It is forecast to move through busiest airspace in the country, a private TV channel reported.
Delta has cancelled 1,300 flights, Jet Blue will drop 75 percent of its weekend trips, and American Airlines is planning to scrap 265 flights. Flight delays are expected to last until at least Monday.
