The investigation process in Shahbaz Taseer’s abduction suffered an almost immediate delay when police present at the crime scene failed to locate his car keys as a senior police officials had locked the car and taken the keys with him.
A delay of at least three hours occurred when police failed to provide forensic specialists with the car keys. A senior police official had locked the car and taken the keys with him. Forensics experts were made to wait after taking finger print specimens from the door knob, body of the car and tyre marks. One of the police officials present on the scene said, “the key may be with our senior officers”, but refused to name any.
A forensic expert at the scene told Pakistan Today, “We are only waiting for the keys. We will start taking specimens from inside the car as soon as the key is found.”
