689 dengue cases in Lahore alone

The dengue virus is spreading rapidly across the country, especially in Punjab, where 106 fresh cases of dengue fever were reported in the last 24 hours. Of the fresh cases in Punjab, 94 were reported in Lahore and 12 in other districts. The Punjab Health Department said 770 cases of dengue fever had been registered in the province, with 689 reported in Lahore alone.
Dengue fever has claimed 31 lives in Pakistan so far, while more than 5,000 people have been confirmed positive.This year there is no concrete data available about the deaths caused by dengue fever. However, according to a media report a 62-year-old citizen, Nasrullah Khan, died of dengue fever in Lahore recently.

  1. I know nasrullah khan who died on september 3rd, 2011 in shalimar hospital. He died because of CMH lahore drs neglect. He was admitted there for 4 days and they didn’t do any ultrasounds or transfusions while his platelets dropped down to 10,000. At this level anyone will bleed to death. The 1st thing done at shalimar on admission was ultrasound and they informed that he had bleed so much internally that he can’t be saved now.They infused platelets but it was too late. Ashamed to be a paki…. never ready or committed
