200 arrested in Karachi search operation

More than 200 persons were arrested from different areas of the city in search operation conducted by Pakistan Rangers and police with Interior Minister Rehman Malik claiming the operation was against targeted killers and extortionists. Pakistan Rangers along with the Karachi police conducted a search operation in Bilal Colony and Awami Colony late on Friday night. Security forces cordoned off the area and searched houses, making 24 arrests in the process.
The area was later visited by Interior minister Rehman Malik, whopraised the performance of security forces. He said that the operation was being conducted upon solid intelligence and will continue till all killers are arrested. He assured the city’s business community that they will never face threats again after the completion of the indiscriminate search operation.
