Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Friday arranged the “National Calligraphy Exhibition- 2011’ to endorse an extraordinary array of calligraphic works in Islamabad.
Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting arranged the exhibition at National Art Gallery (NAG) to revive the calligraphic tradition at a national level. The event is organized every year by PNCA in the last week of Ramzan to promote the Muslim art of calligraphy.
The exhibition depicted both the traditional and modern styles of calligraphy and around 91 selected prolific calligraphers and artists from all over the country put their exquisite works on display and the mediums used were oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, gold on paper, ink and water-colour, pastel on paper, mixed medium, oil on board, and pantograph are the mediums.
