President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed amendments to the Senate (Election) Rules 1975 in compliance with provision in the 18th Amendment to reserve four seats for non-Muslims in the Upper House of parliament, which would take the total tally of the Senate to 104.
Under the 18th Amendment Act 2010, four seats for non-Muslims, one from each province, have been reserved in the Senate. The minority senators will be elected by members of each provincial assembly from the next Senate election. This is the first time that the Senate will also have reserved seats for the non-Muslims.
GOOD TO KNOW THIS.
IT SHOULD BE VERY FAIR TO SELECT OR ELECT.
WE RECOMMAND MR SALEEM KHOKHAR OR MR MICHEAL JAVAID FROM SINDH
