Islamabad Expressway commuters demand adequate waiting shelters

Commuters of Islamabad Expressway are facing severe hardships, especially during the prevalent inclement weather, owing to the absence of proper but stop shelters across the city. Commuters said there were no shelters at key stops, adding that it was difficult to wait
in the scorching heat and heavy monsoon rain. Tehmeena Niaz, a female commuter waiting at the Iqbal Town bus stop was annoyed with the concerned authorities’ disinterest in providing basic facilities to commuters. “Whether we suffer from rain and sludge during monsoon or are stuck in sizzling heat and inhale dust during dry weather, it does not make any difference to the authorities concerned,” she added.
