The British Council under its international inspiration programme arranged a training session with the Pakistan football team at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday. The session was attended by children from various government and private schools. The programme aspires to enrich the lives of millions of children through high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play.
Team Marketing Director Naveed Khan said: “We are excited about the opportunity of going to the UK, the home of football and to play against our sporting arch rivals India. Over the years football has become popular among the youth and there are huge fans in Pakistan for clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and AC Milan. We are grateful to the British Council and the UK High Commission for helping us to go on this tour.” International Inspiration Project Manager Fahd Shafiq said: “We are currently engaging students and teachers. Pakistan has a rich tradition of sporting success and we at the British Council would like to be part of the effort to continue that legacy.”
