The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Thursday disqualified Senator Muhammad Ali Rind for hiding his conviction on corruption charges by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). National Party’s Akram Baloch had filed a constitutional petition against Senator Muhammad Ali Rind which was pursued by advocate Nadir Chalakri.
A BHC division bench comprising BHC Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Essa and Justice Tahira Safdar took up the case for hearing. The court directed the competent authority to take necessary action against the senator for not disclosing details of his conviction by NAB in the election form. The court has ordered withdrawal of the perks and privileges awarded to him during his term as a senator.
