Bank robbed of Rs3.8 mln in Karachi

As many as eight armed persons robbed Rs 3.8 million from a private bank in Karachi in an operation that lasted just four minutes.
According to police, a group of eight robbers entered the branch of UBL near Metro Cinema Orangi Town at 9:03 am on Friday. They held hostage to security guards and other bank staff on gunpoint and looted Rs.4.8 million.
Before fleeing, the suspects took away guards’ weapons and CCTV footage as well.
The entire operation lasted only four minutes.
It may be mentioned here that this was the fifth bank robbed during this month. Overall nine banks have been robbed this year, while police have tracked down only four of these robberies.
