Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information Technology and PML-F leader, Imtiaz Shaikh on Wednesday visited the Chakra Goth, a locality in Korangi which was recently attacked by terrorists, leaving five police commandos dead and several others injured.
Shaikh reached there in a convoy of party workers and leaders including the chief minister’s special assistant Noor Hassan Khaskheli. The people of the goth welcomed Shaikh on his arrival. He told the residents that he had arrived there on the instructions of his party chief, Pir Pagara. On the occasion, people informed him about the account of the attack and sufferings they were facing especially the electricity shutdown and water scarcity after the attack. “The armed attackers had automatic weapons in their hands including light machine guns and they were firing on the residents. They asked us to vacate the goth,” a resident said.
Another resident said that there were dozens of armed men who had surrounded the goth at around 4:30pm and continued firing till 8pm. Aziz, a fruit vendor, said that he was present at the entrance of the goth when the attack happened. He said that he and some other residents present there at that time saved their lives by running rushing to the nearby streets and later to their homes.
The attack on this ancient Sindhi village near Korangi was attacked by gunmen of MQM which reminds us of western classic movies in which bandita or bandits used to attack defenceless villagers and loot the village and murder the innocent residents and run away with impunity.
If the government organises a Rapid Response Force who should have at their disposal helicopters then such scenes in any locality could not take place. The government has to seriously consider on these lines. The police vans are easy pray to these murderes who have sophisticated weapons.
Madhuri aka Kamran who was commander of the attackers is now in police custody in injured state. The report published in a newspaper say that his arm above elbow had to be amutated due to gangrene. This man has inflicted pain to scores of familites and he should suffer the same and realise himself what he has done.
