A division bench of the Peshawar High Court Wednesday sought reply from the Interior Ministry in a petition filed by a US national, Mark D Heaven, seeking withdrawal of a case registered against him.
Chief Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan and Justice Seth Waqar Ahmad heard the petition filed by the US national in the Peshawar High Court. Sardar Ali Raza, counsel for the petitioner, contended that Mark D Heaven had already applied for renewal of visa, so the case registered against him under Foreign Act be withdrawn.
Earlier, the court was told that Board of Investment on April 13, 2010 had asked Mark D Heaven to leave the country as his visa had expired. The court, after hearing arguments of Sardar Ali Raza in favour of the petitioner, directed the Interior Ministry to submit its reply.
