The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday directed the Military Intelligence high-ups to submit its reply in the case of a missing religious figure that disappeared from Nowshehra in March this year.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Ijaz Afzal Khan and Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth heard the petition filed by Ms Jehan Wali from Nowshehra. The petitioner said her son Mubarak Shah, who was serving as a Khateeb in a mosque at Nowshehra, was picked up along with two others by some personnel of secret agencies on March 18, 2011. The petitioner further said the two people picked up along with Mubarak were made free after some time, but her son was still missing.
The high-ups of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in its reply before the court said they were not aware of his whereabouts. Later, the court directed the Military Intelligence high-ups to report on the mysterious disappearance of Mubarak Shah on the next date of hearing.
