Sindh Works and Service Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has directed the district coordination officers of Badin, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Tando Mohammed Khan, Thatta and Umerkot to take measures to prevent outbreak of diseases in the rain-affected areas.
“The minister has taken notice of the reports that viral and water-borne diseases could spread due to stagnant rainwater,” the minister’s spokesman said on Wednesday. The minister has asked DCOs to ensure pure drinking water, hygienic food and medical facilities to the rain-affected people. Moreover, he has also directed the authorities concerned to drain out stagnant water from these areas, the spokesman added.
