Islamabad-based artist Ghulam Hussain on Wednesday submitted an application to Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan against the Lok Virsa executive director (ED) for swindling him out of his money.
The artist and his family members gathered outside office of Lok Virsa to protest against the ED and submitted the application to the federal minister during her visit to the area.
In the application, Hussain contended that two years ago the Turkish prime minister purchased jewellery and other precious stones worth Rs 114,000 from his stall during a visit to Lok Virsa. The amount was to be paid by the administration of Lok Virsa.
However, Hussain said the Lok Virsa administration only paid him Rs 55,000 against Rs 114,000 that was due. He said instead of paying the remaining money, the ED and other officials of Lok Virsa had been threatening him.
He appealed that the federal minister take stern action against the people involved in depriving him of his money, and that he be paid his dues at the earliest.
