Police and Rangers arrested several suspects on different charges in raids at various parts of the city, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Thursday. Talking to reporters, Malik said a targeted operation was underway against criminals and the security forces were taking prompt action upon information received by intelligence agencies. He said the police and Rangers had conducted 84 raids so far and arrested 90 suspects from different criminal hideouts. A large amount of ammunition was also seized during the raids. The interior minister requested the people to cooperate with Rangers and policemen. He also appreciated the efforts of security officials and said the security forces would continue operation against terrorism until peace was restored in the city.
