Residents of different localities took out protests against Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESC) due to unscheduled and excessive outages and low voltages on account of out-of-order transformers on Wednesday. Residents of Pushtakhara, Swati Phatak, Bara Gate, Landi Arbab and Garhi Qamar Din led by former union council nazim Ejaz Khalil and elders of respective villages took out a rally from the main Pushtakhara Chowk to the Kohat Road Chowk and blocked the road and chanted slogans against the government apathy and PESCO’s inefficiency.
The protestors held placards and banners with slogans against the government and Pesco officials, while some protestors held sticks. Protestors said they had been facing outages during Sehri, Iftar and Taraveh timings and were protesting against these excessive outages.
