MQM Lahore chapter seeks end to violence in Karachi

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists in Lahore while marking a “day of mourning” on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration against lawlessness in Karachi. Dozens of MQM activists including women and children had gathered outside Lahore Press Club where they denounced killings of their comrades in Karachi. They chanted slogans against Sindh Senior Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.
They demanded the government should restore peace in Karachi at the earliest. They blamed the federal as well as Sindh government for “their double standards”. The protesters urged the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to take notice of Mirza’s “activities” and demanded President Asif Ali Zardari should sack him. They claimed some PPP ministers were patronising terrorists in Karachi. They said the youth belonging to the MQM and Kutchi community were being subjected to a brutal violence in Karachi.
