CIA busts three gangs, recovers items worth Rs 1.95m

The Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted three gangs and arrested 12 notorious criminals besides recovering looted items worth Rs 1.95 million, including gold ornaments, two motorbikes, one car, Kalashnikovs, two 30 bore pistols and electronic equipment, from their possession. Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan assigned the task to Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Ch. Liaqat Ali to take effective measures to curb dacoity and theft incidents.
Special teams under the supervision of SP Ali were constituted, including CIA In-Charge Bashir Ahmed Noon, Sub-Inspector Shamsul Akbar, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Basheer and others, a police spokesman said. These teams arrested eight Afghan nationals and a proclaimed offender. During the initial investigation, these nabbed persons confessed their involvement in 16 theft and dacoity incidents in the city.
They committed nine theft and dacoity incidents in the area of Shalimar police station, four in Margallah police area, and three in Koral police area. Out of these nabbed persons, eigth are Afghan nationals and identified as Mir Baz, Rahim Ullah, Syed Karim, Abdul Hadi, Nizam Uddin, Sher Dil, Karim Ullah, and Abdul Wahab. Others accused have been identified as Mushtaq and Vikram Masih residents of Narowal, Muhammad Riaz resident of Abdul Hakeem Khanewal, and Khuram Ali Abbassi and Saghar Akbar Abbassi from Muzaffarabad.
