Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid has started forming a ‘third block’ against the rulers of the present government as well as the opposition that has failed to play its actual role.
This was revealed to the media after Rashid held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara at the latter’s residence, Kingri House, on Monday.
Rashid said that the people of Pakistan are not looking toward the chief justice of Pakistan now, but towards the army chief to take a step.
He said that a civil war has already begun in Karachi and it would sprawl to other parts of the country if not controlled.
“If the situation in the city does not improve, democracy will be in danger. The issue is not about the Muttahida Qaumi Movement joining the coalition government now; it has gone beyond that,” he added.
The AML leader said that the government has failed to maintain its writ across the country and television channels and newspapers are an everyday proof of that.
He claimed that a fresh election would shake the country, but a mid-term electoral poll would not be a wise decision as well.
He accused President Asif Ali Zardari of dragging his rule in any condition until the next senate elections in March 2013.
“It would be in the best interest of the government to uncover those behind the prevailing lawlessness in the metropolitan,” he advised.
Pagara said that the month of September would be tough for the present government as opposition parties are hostile to the government, but they do not have any solution to the current situation either.
“The government will not topple, but chances of martial law cannot be negated. The army will come now,” Pagara added.
