PPP, MQM, ANP responsible for Karachi crisis, says Ghafoor

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) central leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said on Monday that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awami National Party (ANP) were responsible for the deteriorating security situation in Karachi. “When PPP, MQM and ANP sit together, the situation in Karachi gets normal and when differences develop among these three parties, Karachi starts to burn,” Ghafoor said.
He said security agencies had failed to control the situation in Karachi and their failure had raised question marks on the writ and capability of the state. He said calling army in Karachi was not the solution, adding that a political solution was needed to establish lasting peace in the city. He said operations against criminals and terrorists were needed and political elements patronising criminals must be exposed.
