Liaqatabad police has taken a woman and a man in custody for interrogations over their suspected involvement in the murder of a woman and her daughter late on Sunday night.
Police also registered a case against two persons including Arshad and Makhan on the complaint of deceased’s brother Falak Sher under section 302 of PPC.
As per details victims Shahnaz and her daughter Iram were living at flat no. 750. Both were found strangulated when victim’s other daughter named Ayesha came to her mother’s house late on Sunday night.
A heavy police contingent reached the scene and policemen removed the bodies of the deceased to the morgue for autopsy and started investigations. Police sources said that while investigators were unable able to arrest the nominated accused but they have taken a woman, Aisha, and a man, Qadeer, into custody. Aisha runs a beauty parlor in the area while Qadeer was a “hakeem” by profession. Police sources said that both Qadeer and Aisha possess extra keys to the deceased’s residence.
Quoting the deceased’s daughter, investigators said that Shahnaz Bibi started living separately after taking divorce from her husband in the flat of accused Arshad, who wanted to marry her youngest daughter Iram. Investigators said that Shahnaz had clashed with Arshad four days ago the matter after which Arshad thrashed both mother and daughter. Investigators said the bodies had been handed over heirs after autopsies on Monday and they have started gathering the call records of Shahnaz and Iram’s mobile numbers to discover the murderer. Police also conducted raids to arrest the nominated accused.
