The Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa government on Monday sacked 41 police officials and awarded minor punishment to 119 others on charges of misusing their powers by arresting and torturing innocent citizens. Taking notice of many complaints against the police officials, IG Fayyaz Khan Toro formed a special monitoring cell and ordered an enquiry against them. According to the report of the monitoring cell, 160 officials were found guilty of misconduct. In pursuance of the report, the KP government terminated services of a DSP, 14 SHOs, four sub inspectors and 22 constables. In addition, 119 officials were awarded minor punishment.
