37 percent pass AWKU exams

Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) Mardan on Monday announced the results of BA and BSc annual examination 2011. A total of 18,997 candidates appeared in the examination in which 7,038 were declared successful, with a pass percentage of 37 percent.
According to the press release issued by AWKU controller of examination, Government Postgraduate Girls College Mardan’s Sara Khatoon secured 474 marks and stood first in the science group. Asadullah from Government Degree College Khairabad and Nida Nasir from Fazaia College Risalpur secured 473 Marks and shared the second position. The third position was secured by Shah Qasim Jan from Government Postgraduate College Swabi, who obtained 471 Marks.
In the arts group, Ayesha Ijaz from Government Postgraduate Girls College Mardan stood first, Huma Liaqat from Government Degree College Colonel Sher Kalay stood second and Muniba Ikram, Zakir Ullah and Ibadur Rahman shared the third position.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Ihsan Ali congratulated the successful candidates and advised them to maintain their academic standards and struggle for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. The VC also praised the controller of examinations for making sure that there was no foul play and for declaring the result on time.
