Youngsters are key to future of Pakistan cricket

Pakistan’s outgoing coach Waqar Younis has supported the idea of bringing in fresh faces which he believes would usher in a new era for Pakistan cricket and the tour of Zimbabwe would be a healthy platform to test their skills. Waqar reckons that the board would face similar problems as India’s dismal tour of England, if the selectors do not t induct young players into the national team. It is good to see youngsters in the side and there will always be criticism, but sooner or later, at some time, you need to induct new players,” he added. “If you don’t find replacements at the right time then you face the problems that India is now facing. If you look at India’s case they have not inducted youngsters at the right time and they are in a bad state in England,” he added. India were whitewashed against England in the four-Test series, having lost the Tests by big margins as most of their senior players have struggled in English conditions. On the return of Shoaib Malik, he said that he is an experienced players and would be useful for the team. Malik, however, said that Sania Mirza, his better half, helped him get through the difficult phase of his life when he was awaiting clearance by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s integrity committee.
