The traders’ community has expressed concern over the increased number of kidnapping incidents in Rawalpindi. Due to the increased number of kidnapping for ransom, businessmen would be forced to flee the country, they said. The traders expressed deep anger over the district management’s helplessness, and demanded the Punjab chief minister take immediate action against such incidents. This was in special reference to what happened in Raja Bazaar when dacoits fired and killed two traders. The combined committee of the traders of Islamabad and Rawalpindi would announce a joint strategy for dealing with the situation after Eid, a spokesperson for the traders said.
