Punjab Fisheries Department offers training course for fish farmers

Fisheries Research and Training Institute of Punjab Fisheries Department is arranging a six-day training course for fish farmers which will start from August 22. Participants of the training course will be given the latest scientific information about fish farming.
Modern techniques for fish farming will also be taught about in the course and latest technologies introduced. The course will also impart training to the fish farmers to establish new farms and upgrade old ones. The course will be held in fisheries sub-training center situated in Rawal Town, Islamabad.

  1. The development of aquaculture should be given top priority by all provincial govts as demand for food grows we cannot ignore fish and other water-based products. Both poultry and fish ponds go hand in hand. Small stock farms with aquaculture can be established in small acreage provided people are willing to invest and have patience to
    wait at least two years for maturity.

    First and foremost requirement to start fish farming you must have land where you built a fish pond or farm and if you don't it is very difficult to start this business because if you are thinking to get some land on lease it will reduce your profit. A good land is almost 30 to 40 thousand per acre per year and you must need at least 15 acre. Out of this 15 acre 3 acre is used for nursery and the remaining 12 acre is used for production of fish.
