Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman Monday feared that unabated incidents of violence in Karachi could lead to the division of country and called for resolving the issue by exercising wisdom and pragmatism, a private TV channel reported. He said the assassinations in the city would only fan ethnicity and this would shatter the image of Pakistan, adding that a one-page prescription to remedy the Karachi situation has been forwarded to the government. He said he wished that the government completes its Constitutional term. “The government is gnawing at its tenure through its failed policies,” he added.
