The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday sought comments from establishment secretary, Capital Administration and Development Division (CAAD) secretary and religious affairs federal minister in the case of CAAD’s contracted employees who had not been paid salaries for the last two months. An IHC single bench of Justice Raiz Ahmed heard the joint petition filed by 47 contractual employees of the CAAD. These employees were working in various projects which were started by the Health Ministry. After devolution of the Health Ministry to the provinces, the projects came under the control of the CAAD. The petitioners contended in court that after the devolution they were not being paid salaries. After hearing the arguments, Justice Riaz Ahmed sought comments from the respondents and adjourned proceedings until August 26.
