‘Right to call the army in Karachi is Sindh govt’s’

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the federal government can call the army to maintain law and order in Karachi if the Sindh government uses its right and privilege and requests the federation to do so. The federal government would also take all the political parties, economic stake holders and civil society into confidence over the Karachi issue, she said adding that the final decision to call the army would be made by the Sindh government. She was a press conference at Ilm College Sialkot. Firdous said the federation wanted to empower the provinces, adding that anti-Pakistan elements were behind the Karachi massacre.
