Two more decomposed dead bodies were found from Kech district on Saturday, increasing the number of bodies recovered to eleven during the past five days as a complete shutter-down strike was observed in the Baloch-dominated areas of Balochistan to condemn the recurrence of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons.
According to district officials, Levies Force, on a tip-off found two dead bodies lying at Souraap Nullah, some 35 kilometers away from Turbat, a town in Kechh district and shifted them to local hospital where they were identified as Asif Rind, son of Muhammad Yousuf and Abu Bakr.
Hospital sources said that the deceased had been shot in their head and chest while their bodies bore multiple marks of torture.
Sources said Asif Rind had been affiliated with the Baloch National Movement (BNM) and was the nephew of Ghulam Muhammad Baloch, chairman BNM. Arif had been picked up from Karachi a few months earlier by intelligence agency personnel. Abu Bakr had gone missing about two weeks ago from Kech district. The deceased’s relatives alleged intelligence agencies and security forces were behind the killings.
According to Baloch Voice for Missing Persons more than 180 bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch missing persons have been recovered from Balochistan during past year.
On the other hand, a complete shutter-down strike was observed in Baloch dominated areas against the killing of missing persons.
The strike call was given by the Baloch National Front (BNF). All shops, markets, banks, and even pharmacies remained closed for the day due to the strike. The strike was observed in Turbat, Mand, Tump, Zamran, Pansi, Jiwani, Gwadar, Khuzdar and other areas.
BNF had announced closure of all government and private offices in Turbat on Monday.
Elsewhere, one person was killed and two others wounded in a firing incident in Quetta. According to police, unidentified people opened indiscriminate fire on a group of people at the main gate of the passport office. As a result, three persons identified as Abdul Khaliq Lehri, Maiwa Khan Lehri and Abdul Salam received serious wounds. The injured were taken to a civil hospital for treatment where Abdul Khaliq Lehri succumbed to his injuries. The motive behind the killing is speculated to be old enmity.
