Former president and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) President General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Saturday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the suicide bombing at Jamrood and urged the country’s political and military leadership to make a new strategy ensuring an end to the ongoing wave of terrorism from the country. Taking to journalists at Dubai, UAE, the former president said that elements involved in terrorist activities had nothing to do with Islam and were tarnishing Pakistan’s image. Musharraf said that the region had not yet recovered from the consequences of 9/11 and if NATO forces exit from Afghanistan amid the prevailing circumstances, the situation will further deteriorate. The Afghan government neither had a regular military nor a trained police force and not capable to control the law and order, therefore, exit of allied forces will automatically have negative consequences. The APML president said that the US internal crisis was putting severe effects on its foreign policy and the ongoing challenges could create the situation such as the Soviets faced in Afghanistan.
