Man shot dead over monetary dispute

A 32-year old man was shot dead while a 20-year-old youth was badly injured over a monetary dispute in the jurisdiction of North Cantonment Police Station on Saturday.
Police said Mohammad Javed owed Rs 90,000 to his relatives Usman and Ahsan. On Saturday, Javed was sitting at his friend’s (cable operator) office along with his nephew Jabir when, Usman and Ahsan came there and fired shots at both of them. Javed died while he was being taken to a hospital while Jabir was seriously injured. The family of the deceased got the body after an autopsy and the police registered the murder case.
Accidents: Two people died while two others got injured in three separate road accidents on Saturday. A 35-year-old man was crossing a road near Yadgar Chowk when a speeding car ran over him and sped away from the scene. Rescue 1122 shifted the unidentified injured to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. A55-year-old man named Ashraf was killed when a rashly driven car hit him in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area. He died of his wounds at a hospital later. Meanwhile, two people named Malik Athar, 35, and Khalid, 36 got injured when their bike collided with another. The injured were brought to a hospital where they were said to be out of danger.
Bodies found: Two people were separately found dead under mysterious circumstances on Saturday. The corpse of an unidentified 50-year-old man was found from Singh Pura Mandi located in the Mughalpura Police precincts. Police said the cause of the death would be ascertained after an autopsy.
Separately, an unidentified 45-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Boharr Wala Chowk located in the Naulakha Police precincts. The deceased, yet to be identified, was lying dead along a roadside when some passers-by spotted the body and informed police.
FIRE: Valuables worth millions of rupees were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at New Anarkali due to short circuit. According to details, the fire erupted at around 5am in a garments shop at Bakhshi Market. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Recovered: An 18-days-old girl who was kidnapped two days ago was handed over to her family by the police on Saturday. Mahnoor Abid, a resident of Nishtar Colony was abducted from General Hospital. Her father Abid Hussain registered a first information report (FIR) at Kot Lakhpat Police Station. The police raided a house at Baba Fareed Colony and rescued her. The suspects have been taken into custody for interrogation.
